Who we are
Malahide Musical & Dramatic Society was established in 1976 when a number of people from Malahide Sports & Recreation Committee, who were lovers of music, came together to create what is now the MMDS that we know and love. John Miley and Marion Doherty (Hayden) organised the inaugural meeting, with a committee of Miley, Owen Connolly, Alice Hughes, Philomena Manson and Orla Fenix.
The very first musical production, The Quaker Girl, took to the same stage we call home all these years later, in Malahide Community School in November of 1977. Our President Monica Fitzsimons was in the chorus of this very first show, and continues to be a stalwart of the society ever since.
MMDS has continued to flourish since then, with musicals, plays and various concerts and performances every year, and an ever-growing group of members.
